What an e-mail is

E-mail is a messaging system for sending and receiving messages electronically over a network. e-mail is to type out the information you want to supply, you add the receivers e-mail address (e.g example@hostname.com), the e-mail then the e-mail is sent from the ´sender´ and is collect by a Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server´s computer which is responsible for collecting the mails. SMTP is the computering language used for the mail server to understand the e-mail. When the SMTP receieves the message they will decide after that when it is ready to be sent to the destination, Post Office Protocol Version 3 (POP3) is the way the e-mail is received . There are other means of doing the final stage however POP3 only creates one instance of the e-mail and will download the file, however using IMAP will send it to a e-mail folders on the server, the folder is accessable from anywhere were you can read e-mail in IMAP version. IMAP Is the most popular type of e-mailing service. E-mails can be sent went the recepeint is not online and they will receieve the e-mail when they come online.  E-mails can now be sent to the recepient and if they have a mobile with internet on it, they can access the e-mail as soon as it has be received from the e-mail server. Disadvantages are: Spam from numerous third party companies, of which partnering companies send on contact details so that their partners can get buyes/users.

A blog is a information site where people discuss, members make posts to inform other users on their opinion of a certain topic of their choice. They are regularly updates which is how they differ from other online sites which keeps their userbase up to date.
